A few months ago, mom & I were racing down the bypass…more dressed up than usual and running behind. (It always takes so much longer to get up into Myrtle Beach than you think) Once we finally made it to our destination, the Greek Orthodox Church’s Fellowship Hall to be exact, we managed to make it inside without sweating off all of our makeup. A true miracle, since it was the middle of July! This whole adventure centered around a photo shoot for Grand Strand Magazine’s Women in Business. We were so honored to be featured again this year along with some other wonderful local women. The profile is such a fun look into what we do and strive for at Good Deed Goods

What services does your company offer?

Good Deed Goods is a brick and mortar giveback boutique helping you GIVE WELL and DO GOOD so that you can join us in changing the world one gift at a time.

At Good Deed Goods we work hard to offer a shopping experience where you get to shop for unique goods that have story and purpose. We strive to stock goods that are socially conscious and have a mission of their own and with every gift purchase, we donate 10% back to charities and organizations throughout our community, nation, and world that we feel are making a difference for GOOD. We absolutely LOVE offering our customers the opportunity to make an impact as they shop and love that together we can do our part to change the world one gift at a time.


What changes/achievements have you made in the past year?

We are working hard to deepen our partnerships with our charities. We want to do more than give back, we also want to raise awareness and cultivate support in our community for these amazing organizations. Back in July, we hosted an Ice Cream party in honor and support of our current local charity partner, The Annie Banannie Foundation. We celebrated both the miracle of Annie Banannie and the opportunity we have as a community to GIVE WELL & DO GOOD everyday. In March, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day as a staff and were able to help promote the Ruby’s Rainbow 3/21 Pledge. We look forward to continuing to bolster these partnerships and connecting with our communities.

Each year, we also strive to add more and more companies and products to our array of goods that have their own global purpose and mission. We are always so excited to see more companies committed to making an impact for good and love that we get to bring their products to our customers.

We also launched and participated in the Back Road Vintage Vendor Market in September 2017, March 2018, & Oct. 2018.


Tell us about your company’s involvement in the community/philanthropy:

Our whole business model is centered on bridging the gap between the world of getting and the world of giving. We want to operate in the tension between wants and needs and acknowledge that we live in a world where need is great for so many men, women, and children. We want every gift we sell to be part of something bigger, which is why we give back to our community, our country, and the world with every single purchase. Our current charity partners are The Annie Banannie Foundation, Save the Storks, & Mikayla’s House.


What are the latest trends in your field on which you can educate/serve your clients?

We are so honored that we get to share with our community how easy (& fun!) it is to DO GOOD with their purchases. One of the main trends we hope to educate our clients about is how each and every one of us has a purchasing power and that we have the ability to use that purchasing power for GOOD. The not-just-for-profit business model is becoming more and more common and we love being part of a field that proves that business can be used for good. We love this quote – “Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.” (Anne Lappé) – this philosophy is the center of what we’re trying to do at Good Deed Goods. And to us, this is much more than a trend, it’s a lifestyle. We want a world where the empowered do their best to empower others and we feel like we have created an opportunity for our community to do so at Good Deed Goods.


What are your company’s goals for the future?

We want Good Deed Goods to become the go to place for unique and one-of-a-kind gifts and goods that give back along the Grand Strand. We are excited to see Good Deed Goods grow in sales because as sales grow, so does our impact. We hope that in the next year we can reach more people than ever before and grow our community of shoppers committed to changing the world one gift at a time.


If your company had a motto (or you already do), what would it be?

Our Motto is “Give Well Do Good” and our business model is based on Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and GOOD DEEDS.”


What do you believe sets your company apart from others in your field?

We believe that our passion for creating a marketplace for local, national, and global impact sets us apart and puts us in a small but significant category of businesses that exist not-just-for-profit. We also continuously strive to provide unique goods with story and purpose that make choosing a gift for someone or treating yourself simple, fun, and meaningful. We are so honored that our work revolves around giving our community a place to shop that allows them to use their purchasing power for GOOD and to empower others.

All in all, doing business for us is very personal. We truly seek out products that we think our customers will love. And we truly enjoy helping our customers find the perfect gift whether they’re shopping for home, baby, or anything in between. We are blessed to not only offer unique gifts, but to also partner with our customers to help make the world a better place one gift at a time.
